Thanksgiving is almost here.  Did you know? In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

Why is Thanksgiving important for Christians?  It marks a day of reflection and celebration.  We really should maintain an attitude of gratitude all year long.  Thanksgiving is a good reminder to us all, to literally count our blessings.
The church roof.
Many have been wondering what is happening with the church roof project. Well after beginning the patching process we discovered that we need a more permanent solution.  Right now we have asked The Bajus’ to work with us in exploring our options.  We are waiting on several quotes and then plan on reviewing them.  At this point we are too close to winter to tackle the job.  So the plan is to discover the best and most economical approach and look to spring to begin.  We will keep you all updated. Thank you all who have already given to this project.

We are very excited to announce that the G2 Discipleship pathway classes are now completely available online.  We have developed the classes so you can work through them at your own pace.  There are 4 classes (10k, 20k, 30k, 40k) with 4 sessions per class.  Each session takes about 20-30 minutes.  When you complete all four classes we will present your certificate and a beautiful walking stick at our Sunday morning celebration.  Click this link to sign up today!
Hunting Season is upon us.
Did you know that Tom Van Durme’s brother Captain Mike Van Durme (Ret. DEC) is an author?  I received this book as a gift for pastors appreciation and I got to tell you, it is awesome.  Here is a short description of the book.  From world renowned experts in hunting accident investigation comes an invaluable collection of cases—true, detailed, and sometimes chilling accounts of death and injury on the hunt. Covering incidents of all kinds and set in locations across the country, these cases not only read like impressive “crime scene investigations” but they also provide hard-learned lessons in hunter safety. A must-read for hunters and anyone fascinated by forensics.
