God’s Calling You!

The Bible is filled with the stories of God calling people, how they answered, and what God’s purpose was for them. We all have a calling; a purpose that God has for our lives. Your calling is not your job, which is temporary. Your calling is a permanent purpose that God gave you even before you were born. It is connected to others in the body of Christ. It is not something done by your own power, but through the skills, resources, and power that God gives you. Your calling will always glorify God. As we begin this series, we first discuss the truth that God has a calling for every person.

“My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God called you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God’s people!” Ephesians 1:18-19 (CEV)

The Bible says, You have been called by God.

What does that mean? The word in Greek is the word kaleo. It’s almost like call, the word call, kaleo, means God is calling you. It’s used about a hundred times in the New Testament, over a hundred times. Most of the time it’s talking about your assignment in life, your purpose in life, your mission in life. The reason God created you. It is called your calling. In the next six weeks we’re going to look at, why am I alive and what am I supposed to do with my life. Don’t miss out on this very important campaign, it can literally transform you life.
