Our Story

Dansville Foursquare Church was planted by Rev. Paul Krebs in 1991.  Pastor Jim Hunt would be the first pastor of the new congregation in Dansville, NY.  Originally named Daybreak Foursquare Family Fellowship. Pastor Jim had a strong vision for the church, his early work established a solid foundation of believers on which to build the church.  He also laid the foundation in prayer for one day having a community center.  The Hunt’s pastored the church until 2002.  Pastor Shawn Harnish and his wife Julie have been the Sr. Pastors ever since.  The name was changed to Dansville Foursquare Church under the new leadership.  The church today is completely debt free and houses the Dansville Community Center. The church is actively involved with blessing the community of Dansville.

Years ago, Pastor Shawn asked a simple but powerful question: “If our church closed, would the community even know or care?” That question has continued to shape and challenge us, guiding the direction of our ministry and our purpose. We believe we are called to serve—not just within our walls, but throughout our community in meaningful and tangible ways. Because of that, we are always looking for new opportunities to love, support, and invest in the people around us. Expanding our vision means stepping beyond comfort, meeting real needs, and making a lasting difference so that our presence truly matters.

We are continuing to live out our spiritual journey together in authentic community, recognizing that faith is not just something we practice on Sundays, but something that shapes our everyday lives. Each day, we are in process—growing, learning, and becoming more like Christ in how we love, serve, and live. As we move forward, we remain eager and intentional about sharing the good news with others, inviting people into a life of hope, transformation, and purpose found in Him.
